JULIAN HARRIS
Julian Harris is a trumpet player of 25 years with a specialty in Jazz. Originally from Baltimore MD, he began studying music seriously at the Baltimore School for the Arts. It was there that he discovered his love for Music Composition. His compositional style ranges from Soul and R+B to classical and is trademarked by heavy use of piano or keyboard in practically every song. He moved to Chicago in 2003 to further his skills at the Chicago College of Performing Arts as a Jazz Performance major. After college, he went on to teach a variety of musical concentrations ranging from Wind Ensemble instructor to Digital Music Production and Choir. Julian is also a Teaching Artist for the Ravinia Festival where he introduces elementary school students to the joys of music. Julian has played at most of Chicago’s music venues over the years and is currently a working studio musician for hire. Music is his first love, and as an educator, he loves nothing more than sharing what he knows with the youth.
